Open-- because she hasn't done anything in AGES

Sep 13, 2007 23:53

Contrary to what some people may think, Cosette hasn't disappeared. Not entirely, anyway. But, she's found out that babies can be exhausting. Now, taking a rare moment of calm and quiet, she's sitting on a couch with a sleeping baby and a cup of tea.

She's quite willing to be bothered.

Karla walks in, practically skipping, and sees Cosette and the baby in a moment. She stops, and gives Cosette a bright grin. "Hello!" She does keep her voice down, though. She knows a little about babies.

"Oh-- bonjour, mademoiselle!" Cosette flashed her a pretty, apologetic smile. "I would greet you properly, of course, but I'm afraid I'm rather... tied down at the moment."

Karla smiles back. "No worries. I understand. I have a friend with a baby who's probably even more trouble than yours." She glances at the sleeping baby and smiles. "Definitely more trouble, since yours looks like such a little angel. At least right now."

Cosette can't help but smile some more. "He's just wonderful. Very tiring, but so very well behaved. I can't imagine a baby being any more perfect."

Gavin wanders muzzily out of the kitchen with his morning coffee. Tea is nice, of course, but doesn't contribute nearly as well to converting one's blood to consist primarily of caffeine. He waves muzzily at Cosette, not quite awake enough to register how long it's been since he's seen her. "Hey. You're alive after all."

"Of course I am. Thought I'm not certain I can say the same for you, from how you look at the moment."

He shrugs. "Give it an hour and a little more coffee, I'll look like something approaching human."

"Would you care to sit until then?"

Here's Marius, then, coming downstairs with his nose in a newspaper. "Oh! There you are, dearest!"

Cosette beams at him. "It was finally quiet for a bit, so, yes, here I am!"

Draco is glad to see one of the very few who may still be a friendly face to him. "How are you, Miss Cosette?"

"M. Malfoy! How lovely to see you!" And she really is. She's missed seeing all her friends as often as she used to. "I'm perfectly fine. How are you? I haven't seen you in so very long! Are you well?"

"Not really..," he says grumpily. "I lost my husband."

She frowns, looking distressed. "Oh my Lord! What happened to M. Harry?"

*Mina met Cosette, ages and ages ago, and liked her, but it's been so long since then, and she's met so many other people, that she may not instantly recognize her when she comes into the room where Cosette is sitting with a book and her own cup of tea* Hello, *she says in a friendly tone nevertheless.*
