Crackplot!

Aug 26, 2007 18:12

On the door of the closet that houses the plothole, there is a sign. In wobbly letters of multicolored glitter, it reads:

DO NOT DISTURB

Those who miss or disregard the notice will have... unpredictable results. XD If you want, you can make up your own effects. If you're feeling brave, comment and see what you get....

lucivar, william hadley-bright, crackplot, stock, maedhros, charity burbage

Stock has never been one for signs, even such eye-catching ones as those. Besides, you can't trust anything around here, especially not signs. So he calmly ignores the warning and pushes open the door, to root around in the plothole, searching for a decent pen...

What comes out at him, rather suddenly, with a noise like a sneeze, is the dried foot of a largish bird. Imperfectly preserved, too.

Stock gapes at the foot, as well he might, considering how conveniently the plothole has generally worked in the past.

"...I was sort of thinking of a quill," he mutters. "Er, I believe this is the -- wrong part..." With a wrinkled nose, he drops the foot back into the plothole.

Which makes an unpleasant sort of gurgling noise.

Hadley-Bright has not the least clue what the plot hole is, he is merely looking in the closet to see if a spare coat may be found there. He sees the notice and laughs, then opens the door. What is there to disturb in a closet, after all?

What he finds instead is a magnificent floor-length cloak of feathers, scarlet and blue.

'This the local fashion, then?' he asks with a laugh. But as that seems to be the case, he takes the cloak. He hesitates for just a moment, then drapes it over his shoulders and strides proudly back out into the hall.

Lucivar isn't really looking for anything. But having seen the sign on the door, he looks both ways and swiftly opens the door, closing it behind him and looking around eagerly. After all, any closed door must have something absolutely fascinating behind it.

It is pitch dark. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Lucivar is lucky to hear an ominous rumbling and, for once in his life, does the sensible thing and bolts. Out of the door. Slamming the closet, he eyes the Do Not Disturb sign and adds a line of his own, calling in a little pen.

SCARY THINGS.

Charity doesn't know anything about the plothole. She's exploring the mansion now, and any closed door is just begging to be opened, sign or no sign.

This elf is currently a teenager, and therefore has a) very little brain, and b) no idea whatsoever about why it mightn't be a smart move to disturb the plothole. So, still exploring, he sees no reason not to open the door...
