So here I am with a brand new installation of the very latest iteration of Ubuntu - and even this is fucking broken. The graphics driver that makes ATI Radeon cards play nicely with Ubuntu has been deprecated, and notions of a replacement are apparently somewhere in the foggy foggy future; and meanwhile the generic substitute makes it almost, ( Read more... )

Problems are not a zero sum game. The fact that you have friends having what may be objectively greater problems does not in any way negate the extremely high frustration and sorrow and stress of your own problems. *hugs*

The continuing soap opera of Chaz'z dysfunctional relationship with Linux does not lose its dreadful fascination.

I would note that there's a big difference between enjoying this sort of challenge when it's a choice and not in the way of thirty-seven zillion things that you want to do, and enjoying it when it's thrust upon you nonconsensually and blocking everything else you want to do.

I distinctly do not enjoy the latter case either.
