No-one likes a rich banker, so it is no surprise to find the politicians having a pop at Barclays' star trader Bob Diamond. For what its worth, some valid points are being made. The man has not created employment for thousands, he has simply traded the market and skimmed money off for his employers, but that is not the point here.

Mandleson has been close to the top of British and European politics for over 12 years, so basically if he's so concerned about the money the bankers earn for their skimming there have been few people in a better position to actually do something about it.
He shouldn't be making nice headline grabbing soundbite statements when he has no plans or intentions of doing anything about it. But as a british politician he's hardly the only one doing this.

He was also singing a slightly different tune a few years ago (when there wasn't an election looming)...
"we are intensely relaxed about people getting filthy rich as long as they pay their taxes"
