I've ran into that honestly with my MIL and some of her, antics. And close friends from years back, so yes, I do agree. It's how you are, if someone brings a problem to you, you try and help. Ifthey want the help is another thing, then its best to wield the clue-bat, or a regular bat will work.
Sometimes beating the point in needs to be literal.
I've bitten my tongue so hard, so many times, trying to be diplomatic (and everyone knows diplomacy is my strong suit, right?) that I now speak with forked tongue.
I've run into this as well. And sometimes people just can't take what you say..even though they really needed to hear it. They say 'no, really, tell me', but they don't mean it. It also makes you wonder if they are telling YOU the full truth when you ask or just what you want to hear...
I wish I could write as eloquently as you do when you're mad :)
Well, I'm more then reasonably sure he is telling me the exact truth. He's not one to pull punches or lie. In fact, he's mostly painfully honest. He could use a spoonful or two of tact. *soft laugh*
However, he tells me things that make me froth at the mouth and start looking for a certain someone to rip to shreds in the throws of a delightful murderous rage.
I have to pull punches though, because he cares about her (even though I am quite sure she doesn't give a flying fig about him); and I don't want to risk alienating him if I say what I really want to say.
I've had that done to me. He's no good for you, you could do better...yadda, yadda, yadda. Although in my case it wasn't true, in this case I feel fairly confident it is.
Eloquent huh? I didn't think it made much sense, but thank you.
