i did almost exactly the same thing to the middle finger on my right hand. ideally, it needs butterfly stitches, and you really should get it looked at. because it's on your knuckle it will take three times as long to heal as it would anywhere else, so it really should get a proper dressing.
you probably knew all of the above, but i figured i'd emphasise the need to take it to a doctor XP especially since i know how goddamn painful it is.
I know I should go - but I can't due to no medical insurance and a severe lack of $$$. Otherwise I probably would, and cry like a little girl anyhow because needles of any sort going near my flesh are like, my mortal enemy or something.
agh, the american medical system is the one thing guaranteed to confuse me. i swear i am never leaving britain.
you wouldn't need real stitches, though. the things i've always called butterfly stitches (i give things strange names >.>) are those little strips of sticky tape that they use to keep wounds closed.
That's a good idea - the american medical system is seriously made of nothing but fail upon fail.
Ohhhhh, I know what you mean now, though! Those are things I can buy from the local corner store, and I have specialized knuckle bandages on right now that are keeping it closed rather well. So yeah, I am un-confused now.
