You're right! There is way too much silence from our allies in the more liberal churches!

Thanks for the supportive comment. Way back when, I was taught that opportunities to "Witness" were not to be passed up. Maybe I had entirely too much faith.

I don't think that there is a media conspiracy. I'm more of the opinion that someone or some organization's expressing support for gays is not as news-worthy as some crackpot saying that Jesus would have supported the stoning of gays..in the same way as someone expressing gratitude that Obama is doing a good job...yields, in the media, to some congressman's expressing his feelings that Obama should be impeached

I'm sure you're right …it is indeed the tendency of media to regard what's 'news' as anything that voices a negative rather than a positive simply because it is so much flashier.
Still, you'd think by now that some good Christians would be up in arms about how the fundies are painting all of Christianity with their vicious paintbrush.
I wonder if religious liberals simply shy away from giving the appearance of internecine fighting.

"I wonder if religious liberals simply shy away from giving the appearance of internecine fighting."

This is a valid point that you have made.

The religious liberals may not want to take the heat that we gays are getting from their "Fundamentalist" counterparts.

So, here we are on the front lines...

Nicely observed, Jerry. I imagine some might be more motivated if they had a gay child or other relative (which is why I support PFLAG).

Double standard?…apparently yes.
Actually, I think liberal Christian/religious groups need not be 'political' about this …. they could make commentary and statements entirely in the context of their religious beliefs, which I should think are not somehow entirely separate from their societal views. At least they could comment on how they differ from the fundies and how that difference is grounded in their own religious views.
Incidentally, if there's any religious group I'd even remotely consider joining it'd be the UU's … and it so happens that their local edifice was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (a lovely place for concerts).
