I want a tattoo. Thing is, I'm not really sure what of. I've been thinking of getting one for some time, but I don't wanna rush into it because it's so, well, permanent, ya know? I think one of the crests or symbols from LotR would be quite nice . . .

I always wanted a Rohan crest. I love horses and the Rohan are so awesome. Though I also wanted 'Never Again' in Dwarvish Runes, to show I had gotten over my money problems. :)

I've also thought of doing something in Elvish, though I'd have to get it by a certified Tolkien language geek to make sure the runes and everything were in proper order. Maybe have the Greek word "agape" done in Quenya or Tengwar or something like that . . .

Yeah, that is something you have to get an expert for. :D

Much like anyone getting Japanese/Chinese symbol tattoos. I read about one artist who got tired of people just wanting the symbols because they thought they were cool; apparently he felt that his language and culture were being mistreated. So he did symbols on a bunch of people that were supposed to say things like "Peace", etc, when in reality they were variations on "Fuck you" and "I am a man whore". LOL. Wouldn't want to have Elvish profanities inked onto me forever ;)

Not that I'm implying someone would get uptight about it, but it's better to have your sources checked.

And I'm having way too much fun with all these userpics . . .

Yay for Tattoos. I warn you though, it's true when they say you can't stop at one. I got one, and I swore that was it but now I'm saving up to get another. I'm like you though, I'm trying to figure out what to get.

I think something in elvish is a good idea. You can print out what you want and give it to the person doing your tattoo and they can make a template out of it. A lot of people design their own tattoos.
