i cannot agree about the housing issue, mainly because the creation of the property bubble was caused by the decreased number of public housing that is avaliable, and we live in a country where most of the land can be taken by the government for said purpose (and in our country, public housing IS the way to go, not like letsay in australia or japan) putting the course of the rise again and again on market forces, and on how "choosy" new buyers of flats are doesn't take away the fact that people who have lower income and lower CPF will be draining their CPF (and as government says, is our "lao ben", money for retirement) even before they get to the age where they can take out the CPF ( ... )

well, I do have to agree with you that increasing housing supply in sg might be the way to go.
And it is good to know that you have taken great consideration before voting for the opposition.

But that is not the same for many others. Many of those backseat politicians who only know how to comment in the kopitiam. To a lot of them anything that the PAP says is bullshit, lies, not worth listening too. Everything a MP it always garners abt of negative comments, some are constructive, but some is just *facepalm*.

I think what I want to say is that us singaporeans (me included) have became too pampered and right now when the going gets tough they expect to be coddled by the government. Which is what is troubling, as it is now easy for and party running for the election to make promises that may or may not be fulfilled. Which I think it is easy for me to say as I have a paying job and don't have a family to work for.

That being said I think the opposition is SG is too oppressed and it is difficult for them to shine.
