I'm sure they can find better ways to use Bobby than as a deux ex machina. I just... I love him so much, but in truth they aren't giving him a lot to work with. The weird thing is that the writers keep referring to Bobby as a father figure, but if he really were he would do way more than giving the boys soda and asking them if they're all right. I wonder if the writers are scared of going too far in characterizing him as a father figure.
Provided they were being truthfulI don't see how they couldn't be truthful. I'm seeing a lot of people saying that they weren't really, but I don't know how that could be. I agree that there was a viciousness on the delivery of those truths, though, that was entirely the syren's fault. Like the guy who killed the mother. He probably resented that caring for his mother took up all his time, didn't mean that he wanted to kill her, still he resented it

It's true. I don't know what the deal is with the writers. They seem really reluctant to take big steps.
I don't see how they couldn't be truthful.
I agree they were telling the truth. Otherwise, what's the point? But that doesn't mean it can't be a twisted sort of truth, with the negative stuff all exxagerated.
oh CRAP! I wonder if Dean will open up anymore about it with Sam after this.
In my personal canon now, Dean never speaks about Hell again, to anyone. Because you know, he opened up to Sam, and Sam threw it in his face. I think even if they sort things out between them properly, it's not going to undo the effects of those words on Dean.
