housing woes (in which I bitch some more)

So yesterday was the last day of being alone in our house.* As of last night two guys have officially begun the process of moving into the apartment upstairs. I suggest doing some research for your own piece of mind. Books like http://www.amazon.com/Mortgages-Dummies-2nd-Eric-Tyson/dp/0764571923/ref=pd_sim_b_2/103-4540170-0991063 are helpful. Up here, you can sometimes go to classes to help with closing costs.

The biggest things I learned were:
a) If you don't have a connection with your first agent/ etc., keep looking. Unlike a pair of jeans, this could be a 30-year investment.
b) Figure out what you have to have and what you want to have. Search on those two categories. For example, I needed at least two bedrooms and a computer room. I didn't have AC, but I added it later.
c) Speak to people.

There are a few townhouses in our subdivision that are for sale or for rent...

Not saying, just saying... Might at least be worth a look. *shrug*

At ANY rate, that sucks about the loud neighbors and good luck in the job hunt!!
