It was when he was eating his lunch at kindergarten that Kyle decided he was going to marry his sister when he grew up. He'd been thinking seriously about it all day after morning circle, when Cindy Perkins had shown off her Malibu Barbie and Ken dolls and had gotten through a long (and boring) recounting of their wedding.

According to Cindy Perkins, when you got older to had to marry a girl and then you had to work the lawn mower while the girl baked cookies and then you had babies. Kyle hadn't quite worked out how the babies entered the lawn mowing/cookie making equation but he figured he'd have time to sort that out later.

What was troubling Kyle was that Cindy Perkins told him she was going to marry him, after which Kyle had immediately protested and declared he was going to marry someone else. After that, everyone wanted to know just who else Kyle was going to marry so he had to sit and puzzle it out

It had been a difficult decision, but in the end they'd decided that the couch had to go. Or, rather, Lee decided that the couch had to go and Tony had failed to make spectacular arguments about why it should stay other than "I don't want to shop for a new one

Tony was on the phone again. Amy sighed and snatched the phone out of his hands.

"Hello, is this an emergency?"
"...Amy? Where did Tony go?"
"Tony had an awards ceremony to get ready for," Amy said, briskly snapping her nails against Tony's wrist when he grabbed for the phone back. "So unless it's an emergency..."
"Trolls are taking over Burnaby."
"So call Henry."
"I did."
Amy muttered something about vampires and their relative usefullness that made Tony snort through his nose and then spend the next three minutes choking on saliva that had gone down the wrong tube.
"So call your mother. Tony needs to go find a suit that doesn't make him look like a travelling salesman-"
There was an outraged noise behind Amy.
"-and you know that takes a while. Sort it out, don't call unless the apocalypse happens. Again."

"She was just asking for advice," Tony pointed out as Amy hung up the phone. "We have time."

Amy gave him a look. "You still look like a hobo instead of someone getting an Oscar. Go change. Henry and Sam can take care

The department had been planning the sting for months. Vicki had carefully compiled enough evidence to pin Richard "Rico" Destras to the wall for human traffiking, pimping, drug possession and selling, and sex with minors. It had been hard to wait for the paperwork to come through with an official seal of "take down this asshole". Compiling evidence had meant days of just watching and following paper trails that led to a whole lot of messed-up teenaged boys
