Anything at all with Scotty. You can choose whether you want to make it TOS or Reboot, but Scotty doesn't get nearly enough love in fic, and this should be rectified!

Anyway. Drabble.

Either when you save the Alpha quadrant you don't have to fit Starfleet's mould for perfect little officers anymore, or maybe Command just wanted to collect all its misfits on one ship and send them out into space together, hopefully never to be seen again.

Not that Scotty cares. He likes it here. Aye, his crew thinks he's a wee bit eccentric, but they don't mind him talking to the ship as if she were real; after all, he's a genius.

And Scotty knows better than to tell them that, when there's no one else around, Enterprise is talking back.

I guess that's one way to see it, though my interpretation was less happy. Why yes, of course they are! And isn't this a sweet little drabble I wrote here, not a word about anyone going crazy and hearing voices, which is why I have no reason to say wooops.
