The absolute best, best, best part of this is the fact that you gave her a compound bow. I could write, like, an entire analysis of just that moment. Possibly this is because I am a giant dork.

I love the easy, smart beat of this, the way you use the basic rhythms of the hunter life -- the job to earn the money, the job where there are stories to hear, the story that's something more, the knowledge and training that's already ingrained and gets the job done well.

Oh, she so totally has a compound bow. Because, okay, she's tough but at the end of the day she's still an incredibly tiny, petite person and she's smart enough to use every tool she can to make herself stronger. Also, she would look so totally hot with a compound bow.

Write the analysis! *g*

Yay! Jo! And the flesh-eating monster horse was cool too.

Yay Jo! Scottish folklore is fantastic for throwing up monsters to play with.

I was worried when not!Sam found her in a bar that the implication was that she'd given up hunting BUT I didn't think of that! Thank you for the boot up the bum. =D

Also, this fic belongs in the list of awesome.

I was kind of worried as well, especially as she seemed a little bit ashamed that Sam found her there.

So I decided this is why she was working there. She just decided to hang around for a few weeks after killing the each uisge, so she could build up her money reserves.

I am sad that I don't have a Jo icon. I shall have to resolve that.

This was great! She's got to be a pro at gathering information, and I loved how you wrote her easy interaction with the bar patrons, carefully leading them into giving the information she needed. And the horse/man spirit at the end was great - like it had imitated someone she desired, but not completely. Hooray for kickass Jo - I was mad at all the comments saying she should have fought Sam harder, because it's not like anyone else has defeated a demon in unarmed hand-to-hand combat!

Oh, come on. She's fighting somebody a foot taller than her, about twice her width, with far more training. Somebody who she didn't expect to attack her. And, oh yeah, somebody who is possessed by a fucking demon. I loved the fact that, even with all that, she managed to get her hands on a bottle and come close to smashing Sam with it.

Jo is awesome. *nods*

Just to further your point...have you seen Sam's hand on Jo's? She's so very tiny in comparison! Visuals help, she fought as she could, having been taken by surprise - besides, we know Sam and Dean have been trained by John, Marine-style, we have NO real info on how Jo has been trained, by whom and how...and as you said, she went for the bottle.

That scene was very well acted by both actors :)
