Dessie was having a haircut today, so I rode Oliver instead. Oliver is a 14hh Haflinger. I'm used to a 16hh cob. OH MY GOD, TINY STRIDES. BOUNCY BOUNCY BOUNCY

Did you that thing where you look down expecting nice meaty shoulders, and then there's nothing? I always find that unsettling.

Oh, god, yes. And that disturbing thing where you're used to the head being miles away, and suddenly it's RIGHT THERE, and it feels like your reins are only six inches long.

Also, Dessie is hogged. Oliver has a mane down to his shoulders. I kept getting my reins and crop tangled up!
