Derek Mace: This is a new concept in making. I pursued this genre because I saw it fit to appeal to the greater masses which (I fear) are adamant on making High Fantasy obsolete lest it be from a famous author.

WOW. That IS one heck of an introduction! The action starts right on the first line and it just doesn't let you go the whole way through. And I could really feel what poor Kasim was going through-- the fear and horror and indignation at what the extremists were doing, against innocents and against his faith. You conveyed that really, really well. :)

Muwhaha!

I was originally intending this scene to be at the middle-end of the book, where Kassim is one of the most religious and intelligent of the international student group, and the loss of him tosses everything to chaos.

It's mostly a really crazy story--no one knows what to do, and those who try to get away know "too much".
