(*looking at the map*) Oooooooooh... I like this map a lot. So many islands... like the one you made for me of NHEA.
:D
While designing it, I tried to make some really interesting places...say, The Fall. The catch there is that the continental plates that form Anoria and the nearby islands are higher than a certain plate, which sunk deep into the planet, thus making something of a "Atlantis" scenario, and The Fall is a reference to a massive waterfall which sort of resembles that of Pirates of the Carrabian. How water goes back up is that the winds head from there to Tharnil at the far east of the map, and the winds are so fast that they travel effectively across the map.
May or may not make a knowledgeable person in this face palm, but IT'S MAGIC!!
The Woodland is like a tropical thunder with ashes, of very slow growth and near-sentient trees, and is considered a forbidden area. The Wild is just a vast land with monsters. Those who don't take ships to travel across Anoria and risk a land route risk a lot.
I saw your map before and I must say, I am stunned. It is so detailed, so elaborate and well - done! (lol in some cases ITS MAGIC! does make sense. I use it too for some of my geographical impossibilities:P)
Most of the awesome factor returns to the fact that making the map is -in fact- pretty easy, but the problem is scaling.
