The cold, detached narrative voice does make this sound melodramatic, I suppose. This was supposed to be a revelation or something. -Not to mention I change a lot in Unari history.-
This makes me think of a story my mother told me once, about a man who left food on his doorstep every night. It'd be gone the next morning-- he said it was proof positive of the existance of God. He had an atheist friend who said, "Get real. Leave food out again tonight and we'll see who shows up and takes it." They did, and waited up, and then a fox came along, ate the food, and went away. And the atheist crowed, "See? I told you so. You're such an idiot." But when he went to bed that night, God appeared to him in a dream and said, "Really, what did you do that for?
