so two things about Tuesday

One:

I won this poetry prize thing and it has a nifty certificate and a cash prize and everyone clapped and then I lost the certificate and I called the library's lost and found and I got it back and the check is in the mail and it was cool.

Two:

On the way home, I picked up a tent caterpillar and helped it find a nice fruit tree to gnaw on.

i used to collect those kinds of caterpillars every summer with friends when i was young. i have this horrible vivid memory of when i was at daycare and we were playing power rangers, i ran to the tree to collect a caterpillar from the bark, and instead of pulling him off, i pulled his skin off.

i was horrified.

i am so petrified to pick them up to this day because of it.
