um. damn. was that second part fiction? strippers always struck me as so... that one metallica video. but i guess i never knew one personally.

Also, the strip clubs in Portland are very arty and classy (because it's fucking Portland). So, yes, I've seen girls dance to such classics as NIN, Tool, and Metallica. But I've also seen a girl dance to Daniel Johnston, a girl dance to a Joanna Newsom remix, a girl who only danced to jazz, and a girl (the one I'm writing about above) who danced to Doris Day. They're intelligent and the way they kill time between sets/hustle for tips isn't to flirt, it's to carry on a sustained intellectual conversation...because that's likely what you're expecting least.
