A gentleman whom I do not know made a public statement over these contraptions to the effect that you had been arrested for rather grisly crimes. It was contrary to what I have known of you thus far from our conversations and correspondences, and naturally I questioned him about it. Such things he claimed, and without giving you a chance to defend yourself publicly. Most unfair and unbecoming.

Are you all right? I trust you are safely away from those who would seek to harm you?

[Apartment 13, how charming. And just a little bit quaint. The Master doubts that the number choice was anything but by design. But he's not going to stand here all day, critiquing his soon-to-be-host. He has a tea party to be at. A plotting one, which is the best sort, obviously. He doesn't expect what they talk about to come to fruition any time soon, but it's always enjoyable to contemplate these sorts of things. He reaches out to knock on the door, four-part beat.]

[Road answers the door soon enough, poking her head around it and grinning up at the Master when she sees him there. Gone is the messy haired little girl in a short skirt and stockings - instead she's dressed herself up in a Victorian style party dress, a matching ribbon holding back her neatly combed dark hair.]

[She steps back and holds the door open for him to enter the apartment.]

[The Master is dressed per his usual, black suit, a dress shirt (a soft cream today) and a tie (dark red). He does change. It's only that most of his suits are dark. And he prefers light shirts. But he at least changes into jumpers sometimes which is more than can be said for the most current Doctor. He smiles down at Road. She really is very good at presenting herself as a sweet little girl. She's his sort of 'sweet little girl' anyway. The regular sort is much more boring.]

[He steps into her flat, and then holds out a small potted plant.]

Host gift. I thought this might be a little bit more interesting than the traditional bouquet. Venus Fly Trap. They're very amusing. I wouldn't be surprised if you'd had one before.

[Road bounces on her heels at the sight of the present, eyes wide just like a child's would be at being presented with something new, holding her hands out for it. It wasn't even completely an act, she really did have a little girl's disposition towards being spoiled with gifts.]

[She takes the plant in her hands, turning and heading down the hall towards one of the rooms, beckoning for him to follow her.]

[She had set the tea party out in her playroom rather than the dining room, finding it much more comfortable there - for her, at least.]
