Friday night TV

So, my plan to hook up both of my Tivos to my one working TV -- and thus be able to record two shows at once --totally backfired when it turned out that both remote controls operate both Tivos.  I did not foresee this problem because the two Tivos are so different -- one of them is an old Series 1 I've had for six years and made by a totally ( Read more... )

Because it's TEXAS. ... in Texas, a guy's hasslin' your girl like that, you take him out and nobody asks any questions. In fact, the cops will buy the first round of drinks. *nods* Mm-hmm. The "He needed killin'" defense. Pretty much still acceptable in the Republic.

Like, I can think of three Kenny Rogers songs off the top of my head that have that very plot.
Hee!

Landy is totally "The Coward of the County" -- which was actually on my mind because I had to look up the lyrics the other day to resolve an argument with my mom about whether he actually killed the guys at the end.

Cracking up at your FNL rant, and I don't even watch the show. I'm sure Kenny Rogers has sung about every situation that man can face.

Moonlight was much improved over the premiere. Yay! Loved the flashbacks. There's my Jason. Loved the stories. Loved the characters. All in all, an enjoyable hour of television.

Oh, that '80s flashback was totally rad, dude. It's too bad Jason didn't get to ad-lib, since he's fluent in '80s-speak.

'80s Joseph is great but not his best scene. That would be the following scene, when he drives up in Car of Immediate Orgasm wearing Black Leather Jacket (which is actually '80s style) of Whatever Is Better than an Orgasm, A La Mode.

So, is FNL this year's candidate for grave_watchers? I think we need to wait until at least January before we target a new show.

We can wait until next week, but that's it. I've always been able to call them within two epsiodes. I called VM in one (not to brag). I'm going to do a separate post with the shark jumpiness and post in GW.

Or we could kill Supernatural, just for shits and giggles.

Hi - I run tivolovers and TiVoLovers.com.

You can resolve the remote conflict easily enough. TiVo's have multiple remote addresses (0-9) and you can set each unit to a different address so they don't conflict - see this support page.

Wow, that totally worked. Thanks so much! Are you like some superhero who hears the far cries of Tivo users everywhere and comes to their rescue? That is totally awesome.

Maybe a little. My superpower is being a geek and using technology - tivo_in_lj is my 'Spidey-sense'. ;-)

Glad it is working for you.

I don't think FNL has jumped the shark completely just yet. I thought the Taylors' storyline was compelling and while he wasn't in the episode all that much, I loved the bit with Jason Street butting heads with the new coach. Those stories have me intrigued.

I do agree with your take on the murder, however. I just don't believe that they had to dump the body. Tyra filed a report after the assault and Landry's father is a police officer. It seems like they could've made a claim of self-defense with no problems. I'm still going to watch and see where they take this, but I'm disappointed that they went this route.

I couldn't believe how disappointing FNL was. I was really looking forward to it too. So sad. I'm going to stick with it for a few episodes and see if it gets any better, but you're 100% right about the Tyra story line.

As for Moonlight...my friends and I are hooked. We've decided to make Fri nights a girls night in and watch it. Even if the episodes suck, at least there's massive amounts of Pretty to look at.
