Here, right now, all the maple trees are in flower--a green, inconspicuous flower, but it smells lovely. (It will be a while before roses are out!)

Bangalore has, thanks to great administrators in the past (not the present band of rascals and rogues) something called "serial flowering"...every season, there are different kinds of avenue trees flowering. We just had the cassia, tabebuias, and jacaranda finish, and now the Gul Mohan (also called the May flower, guess why!) is painting the roads with both arboreal and roadside carpets of bright red.
I am sure there must be a wiki about this....
