It's NOT easy...

I was speaking to someone (let's call this person...ummmm...I got it! "A") about another person's ("B"...however did you know I was going to call the second person that?) disorganized working. A said that my comments were offensive because, "all your life you have done only things that you wanted to do ( Read more... )

Something tells me person A is of the male gender ... :)

Gender wars in place here? ... how many of us have watched TV programs where they get the husband/man to switch roles with the wife/woman for a week / day? Those men learn a LOT about the "women do nothing all day except talk on the telephone" type stereotypes, don't they?

I have so many assumption made about me, that I now need to compile a book ...makes for for good jokes!

( One of them being that my living space cleans itself. I just sit there and the floors get swept and swabbed daily, by magic.

I wish!)

I'm not saying you're right, and I'm not saying you're wrong, but...A...was of the female gender! :)

Deponti, I have said this earlier and I will say it again: People usually have NO clue what they are talking about and make remarks without ANY reasoning!

You have something visible - wildlife, photography....my mom does not and she has several people ask her: "So what do you do every day?" She usually finds that 24 hours are not enough for everything that she has to, means to, wants to accomplish, so that kind of question surprises her (or irritates her). :)
People view others from their very limited perspective, from the sliver that they can see or imagine are seeing. We can't explain to them the hundred other things going on in our lives. Some remarks remain etched in our brains (even though we don't want it to) while others make us laugh. I have found that most of these remarks come from complete ignorance; immaturity or envy. :)

@ madrasi_in_mo

Yes, many such comments come from a place of sheer envy. Some come from a mix of ignorance and envy!

actually..this was ONE comment that I could NOT ascribe to either ignorance or envy! And...it isn't a gender war, either...

It's very annoying to have people discount your hard work. Alas, there are people who think that if one never complains, it must mean one has no problems--if one never mentions struggles, then one doesn't have them!

If that person had stopped to think, she would have realized that there is no one in the world who can get by doing only things she likes to do. But it sounds as if she spoke out of irritation herself...

> if one never complains

BWAHAHAHahaha.
Is there anyone of us who never complains ?

But it is true that if people do not speak out, others assume that they don't have anything to speak out about. We are social beings and we interact with others based on who WE are.

Why do some of these commentators suck up to you?

You were the one who were judgemental about Person A and
you deserve the words spoken to you.
Yeah, like everyone else you do this that and everything
day after day and may be someone always facilitated this
day after day without being ...u know what..

I do say you do have a humorous side.
