Glow Worms....

I have been having a really rotten internet connection and have not been able to post about the varied and wonderful sightings we had at the Biligiri Ranganna Hills property of Jungle Lodges and Resorts...but while I can, let me make a quick post about a short outing I had yesterday....it turned out to be a mini NTP outing!

What a fascinating grubby creature. Thanks for bringing it my way....

Actually we use the gene that codes for luciferase (enzymes that cause fireflies to glow) to visualize all sorts of things and tag molecules in research. With imaging technology where it is, it's quite amazing the sorts of things we can do. I wonder if anyone has done a similar thing with finding the enzyme responsible for the glow worm's glow....

Nice. I have seen the odd near IIM-B. But haven't ever seen the "worm" itself. Somehow having seen the worm now, I feel like a bit of the magic's gone!

Still having a bad connection. I thought it would have resolved by now. Obviously it is a problem nearer home. How helpful is the bsnl Bangalore helpdesk? Here they are very fast.
