Foul weather friend, Ah! I had read somewhere about the meantime friend, but this sounds way better. And of course, can relate to it. :)

Funny, I was watching a play one street away, about the time you must have been in Chowdiah. I saw "Plastic Kadavul", a tamil play by "TV" Varadarajan and his troupe in a small hall near Chowdiah. The play was quite good, and rather funny. Enjoyed it a lot.

I passed by Chowdiah, and saw the Evam notice. Reading your review, am glad I didn't see that. I had seen their Monty Python stuff last time at Ranga Shankara, and it wasn't very good.

Yes, I too wished I had been to see the Tamizh play instead of this one! But very often, Tamizh theatre also disappoints with its inanity and staleness (just like this one did, I must say!)

Most welcome! I rather think that given my preference for Ranga Shankara and the fact that there are only plays there that I have seen before, I will be going next in October...

Yes, but the sad part is when they move on, and I am left behind...well, I suppose one of the two always does, and the other friend is left feeling a little bad, that's the way of life! I keep telling myself NOT to let others into my heart and feel bad later, but it's not going to happen!

Excellent, articulate response, Sunil! I suppose it is only my personal opinion, that when a team is as theatrically talented as you all are, you should not move entirely away from serious (that doesn't mean sad or dry) theatre to provide only slapstick stuff. I don't think it was the Monty Python stuff that disappointed me, it was the premise that I was going to see "Something Different", and the fact that you are capable of comedy-with-an-IQ, and I haven't seen any of that from you lately...

I will avoid any Monty Pythonese plays in future, but will, of course, come for anything else that you stage, particularly if it promises to give us entertainment while making us think at the same time. Good luck to you!

Actually, the Popey sketch was a repeat, so was the ex-parrot sketch and so was the slow-motion-rewind gag...and the situations were just too stale, I am sure that with your inventiveness you could have thought up many original, funny situations.
