Yes, I do know that the first one is not a technically good photograph...but for me, especially on my blog, the documentation (in this case, of the inexorable movement of the snail) is more important, hence the photo was included. I would not post this photo to INW, though, where the quality of the photograph is also important.

Don't tell me that snails are easy to snap, they hardly move so no shake. I can shake even while snapping a rock!! Actually, I was squatting uncomfortably over the creature, trying to take a macro shot (OOF) and then decided to use sainath's tip of taking a normal pic with full zoom (in focus, voila!)

birdonthewire conducted the quiz today; it was an excellent one...so you see, I *can* get people whom I have known only through LJ to become involved with QuizFamilies....so I am not giving up hope on you!
