I have not faced the syndrome that you have explained here, inspite of the fact that I know very little about ragas and such. :D I take happiness from the fact that I have the generic-aptitude required to learn and that I can always learn anything.

Well put..I feel the same..Though I am reasonably confident, if the other person is more experienced, I hesitate to answer..Which invariably leads to accusations of non-participation..

I am the same. Even in strange things. When my dance teacher accused me of being the "Judas", despite my knowing VERY WELL INDEED that I had not talkled to anyone about her choreography, I still questioned myself and felt the icky weight of her accusation. I realized then that I have an insecure personality that needs to question itself too often.
