My dad had the same thing in both eyes (at different times). They fixed him up good with lasers... medical technology is amazing.

Oh, that's hard. I hope you are feeling better now. My dad had a similar retinal detachment 2-3 years ago, though I am not sure if it's exactly the same as yours. He's been fine since the laser treatment.
