Book One edited and done! Final word count is 93,593. Still a bit long for a young adult novel but oh well.

Yay! :D

I think you can probably push word limits a little more these days with YA novels depending on how early/late YA you're talking... there have been quite a few lengthy YA novels published in the past few years so I think some publishers are becoming less resistant to the idea if the book is good.

Haha, yeah I hope so. I imagine this might be on the older spectrum of YA, if that's even a possible section. I dunno! I did wander the YA section at my local Borders and was kind of amazed how utterly dead boring a lot of the covers are. Ethereal swirly smoke with a photo of the main character on the front. Boring. D<

And thank you! I hate to ask but....doyouwannareaditagain? >____>;;;

Yeah - I think a lot of those are urban fantasy books (i.e. Twilight with vaguely different supernatural creatures). I don't mind minimalist designs, but I'm always suspect of books that have the main character's picture on front - especially since it's not often the author gets to have input on the cover design or how their main character is actually portrayed.

And I would, for sure! :) Just give me about a month (it's coming up on the end of the semester - two papers, four presentations and a final to go!).
