Personally, I like it as a skirt on it's own and then you can pair it with variety of tops instead of having just one dress.

I definitely like that thought, but my question then comes in what kind of closure should the skirt have? Obviously the shirt holds the skirt up in this girl's picture, as the dress top would in my case. Could a zipper be worked into this kind of skirt without looking horridly obvious? I have no clue how to put this skirt together, so IDRK...
