Hey - followed your instructions to get rid of these twitter posts but it didn't work, and I get this same post on my Friends page over and over again. Anythiing I can do? I don't mean to sound rude but can't stand seeing this same twitter post over and over. You asked that people talk to you and don't just de-friend you out of the blue so that's my purpose here, but may need to defriend if I cant get rid of the darn twitter stuff some other way.

The code is to get rid of the Twitter feed, but it will not get rid of any text put before/after the feed, or the post itself. You will just see a blank (or in my case, this same paragraph or whatever paragraph I put before the cuts) entry whenever it comes up. I'm sorry to hear that, for whatever reason, this annoys you sufficiently to wish to compromise/end our friendship. I enjoy sharing my day to day life, and random thoughts, with my friends and that is why I ship my Twitters. Just like I skip over many of my friends' meme and quiz postings, I just assume that if people do not wish to read my Twitters, they can simply skip past them. I try to make them as inobtrusive as possible, and I try to ship them at a strange hour (currently 11pm) so that they are easier to ignore. If you have any suggestions as to how I can make it so that they are easier for you to ignore, please let me know, as I do not wish to lose a friend over something so trivial. I would limit shipments to once a week if possible, but the program currently

I have to agree with andoriah, though. :| I find the repetition of stuff from other networks pretty annoying, though I tried for you for awhile since you've been trying so hard to make it easy.

You know, I just made the announcement on my LJ that I had a Twitter and let those with Twitter follow me if they wanted and left it at that. I think you've done an excellent job of trying to be unobtrusive, but if you do insist on doing them since obviously some folks aren't on Twitter I would suggest possibly doing what slyfoxesq did and create a filter. So, for example, create a post asking what folks would like to follow your Twitter feed here on LJ. Then create a custom friends group and only add those people to it. And when you post the feed have it only viewable to that group.

Let me know if this seems like a good solution for ya - because if not, I think I might stop watching you here and just add you to Twitter if that's okay.
