And when their eloquence escapes me...

I was born in 1982, raised by my father and grandmother. With the latter, every day was 50s-60s ballads, chantilly lace, and pretty faces. With the former, oh, for the love of the 80s music. No matter how much I had been enamoured by my grandmother's music, my father's music always had my heart racing, and remains even now my first musical love ( Read more... )

stuff, music, 80s

There should never even be a thought in your head. Don't Stand So Close to Me Is always better than Roxanne!!!!

Hmm, maybe, maybe... but Roxanne is equally catchy, and clings pretty tenaciously to my brain as well. It doesn't want to let go... Especially not since I saw Moulin Rouge, and the dance sequence gets in my head along with it and the mix that they made for the movie...

Like I said before, Don't .. To Me is way better since it's a personal thing, but I love love Roxanne because of Moulin Rouge, too. The dance sequence always plays in my head, too!

At least I'm not the only one, then, that gets that in her head when the song plays. XD

80s music is the best.

"The youngins these days with their hippy hop and their Devil's music!"

P.S. Whitesnake was our Girl Scout camp cabin's choice for the end of camp talent show. We were so awesome for little girls.

Yea, I will say, of all his faults, I'm thankful that he at least has decent taste in music. (Decent... he also obsesses over some recent stuff, for which I can't forgive him.) My dad is a mix between awesome sauce and zomglame. But I love him...

Off topic: Yup, sure do. I work in downtown Atlanta, actually. <3

My brother shared his love of that music with me. My first concert was Poison, Ratt, LA Guns, and Whitesnake. :)

Geeze, I envy you those concerts. I've only really been to a handful, and one was Ricky Martin and an Nsync members' little brother... and the other, which I am much more proud to admit to, was Elton John and Billy Joel... although we couldn't see anything because we had nosebleeds. ::mutters at Joel's father for sending us all the way to Sunshine, FL because these seats were supposedly "better" than what we could've gotten elsewhere::

We saw that concert at Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach at the fair grounds. It's called something else now I'm sure. They started letting the newest sponsor name it and it changed names every year. But locals will always called it Coral Sky. Anywho it's an open venue and we had lawn tickets which is always fun because everyone blanket hops and shares their drugs. But my friend got us actual seats once there, somehow. She was an evil bitch but she had the juju going on. So we got to see them pretty well up close ( ... )

Re: AHA! A mistake! dependonyou May 30 2007, 13:17:41 UTC
I played Nintendo! Loads! But couldn't play it in the car, which is where we listened to music... as I wasn't about to listen to my parents talking in the car... or talk to them. ^_~ Nonono, I played a great deal of Nintendo, and never owned a Sega... and now I am livid that my parents continued to play my Nintendo after I went to college, broke it, and threw it in the garbage without a care in the world... possibly with a host of about 20-30 of my favorite games. ::sobs::

I played Sega a few times, though... whenever I had to go to the dentist... as they had one hooked up in the lobby... I liked the 7up spot game.

No... no I did not. And I regret it. dependonyou June 4 2007, 10:21:51 UTC
Well, the music didn't cut in, simply because I couldn't play games in the car anyway... but then again, had I stayed at home all day, I suppose I would have had more time to play, so there's always that. And about half the car rides had me playing on my gameboy when I could...

Sega Saturn...? I don't know what I played anymore, honestly. I don't think so, though. I was lame, and didn't know anyone who had one.

;-; That's a sad story. I'm sorry...
