So, today I opened a Bank of America account, and at the end of the week, I'll be closing my  M&T account (yay!!!)  I'm more than thoroughly DONE with Maim and Torture Bank.  I'll be setting up my direct deposit this week (once I get my account details, since I did all of this online :) and then I'm closing said M&T account, and goodbye random fees ( Read more... )

Can't POSSIBLY be worse than M&T, they've whored me for more fees than I care to think about at this point. With BoA, I don't have any monthly fees (hurray direct deposit!) I have no check charge, I have no ATM fee, and I get keep the change and a savings account, which is totally awesome.

If they end up whoring me, I'll try Chevy Chase. That seems to be the other "decent" bank.

That's pretty much what they've done to me, only they acknowledge that I made the deposit, they just decided to put a hold on half the amount of the check for NO GOOD REASON. Literally, they deposited half the check, and the other half is being held, so it shows up in my total balance, but not my actual balance, so I've now overdrafted my account 4 times because they failed to tell me that they'd be holding the check.

So I cancelled my direct deposit today, so they won't be getting any more of my money. Everything that I need to go through has gone through, except the inevitable overdraft fees, which I WON'T be paying.

They'll get over it. ;)

You know what's funny? I checked my bank account today when I got to work, and it was squared away. No more hold on the check, no overdraft fees, nothing.

Guess I scared them!
