Art Under the Bridge

Even by spinster standards, two days is a long time to go without receiving one phone call. I knew the phone was working though. Life has taught me that when people don't call (okay, when men don't call back) it is never because they are lying in a ditch (contrary to the fantasies of so many single women). Despite this knowledge, during the 48th ( Read more... )

Yay! work or ugh work. which is how I feel every time I get a job.

I have never had to pee for work. Maybe they want us to be users and abusers in my line of work.

Pls. don't show up for first day totally sober, first days always suck so you might as well be a little hung over.

I'm leaning toward ugh right now, but of course, it was day one of being the new kid. I didn't show up hungover, but I was exhausted. So fucking tired from convincing myself that my alarm clock would fail me on the first day. I'm off to bed.

I'm sorry to say I've spent so much time job hopping that piss test clinics are like my homes-away-from-home.

My aim is so perfect, I hardly get any on my hand now.

Why are you forbbiden to flush? I don't get that rule. This was my first time peeing in a cup.

I think it's to "prove" that you went in the toilet, instead of smuggling in some urine filled tupperware in your sock.

Not that you couldn't dump some of whatever you smuggled in, but maybe they listen from outside the door and are highly trained.

not as long as it's been since i worked! :D

despite the 9,403 jobs i've held since college i've never been asked to pee in a cup. is that strange? never taken a drug test for any reason. maybe it shows a lack of faith in me. "don't bother, she won't be here long..."

i'll callya tomorrow to see how your first day went. congrats!

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme and reason to who conducts drug tests. My [favorite most professional] bank job -- the job where people were most likely to steal to support a habit or mess up because they were under the influence, the job where I had to have my fingerprints taken THREE TIMES for accuracy -- did not require that I test for drugs.

The job where I clean out trucks? GUARANTEED to be a drug free work environment. And really, I could afford to be on something.

This was my first time peeing. Which is ironic, because I haven't peed all day. I'll be on the lookout for the restrooms tomorrow.

Thanks slacksista. I need to find a way to make some paper without corporate funding behind it.

I'm not kidding.
