I summer in Russia

Jun 27, 2005 13:23

Saturday afternoon found me on the corner of 9th and Where Nightmares Are Made where my drinking and storytelling were interrupted by three car crashes and a girl too drunk to complete her Walk of Shame without falling down several times and taking a construction sign with her. The entertainment value was high but I was afraid to ride my cruiser ( Read more... )

Ya know I saw that the rollers girls were part of the parade and thought of you when I saw'em. Even walked past the booth after the parade and thought about asking but don't know your real name to ask and didn't see anyone that looked like ya. Was gonna say hi but then decided you probly wouldn't remember me anyway. So even though I didn't stop and say hi I did think of ya! LOL!

I only lasted until probably 2 or 3 in the afternoon, but what a great day it was. The rain even waited for us to finish off, eh?

Thanks for thinking of me anyway--maybe some of my other peeps were in the crowd and I just didn't know it. Just another of life's mysteries I guess.

We didn't last long ourselves. Watched the parade, joined in on the purple fire truck towards the end, made one walking loop around the vendors and left. Was home and showered before 2pm.

Are you, by chance, coming to ChicagoCon (aka MiniCon)?

There'll be plenty of karaoke, as far as the eye can see, but just as a little sidenote...DON'T pick "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," for Capone's sake.

I'm not going to be at Chi-Con, but Diamond Lil and She Who Canno Be Named will be representin' for our league. Are you going?

I want to go to Vegas for sure. You?

If it's for Capone's sake, I'll forgo it for something off of the Footloose soundtrack. She can't protest that.

"While I claim to long for the ol’ days when the mundane aspects of my life (paying bills, doing laundry, going to the grocery store) were efficiently taken care of, I’m calling bullshit. I’d much rather spend any day skating in the sun, eating funnel cake and people watching. I have plenty of time to be responsible. And bored."

Exactly, and well put.

You really should write an article for the upcoming Needles for Teeth all woman issue, they are taking submissions of practically any sort.

Yes, I knew you'd like that sentiment. Now, if I can just own it and stop complaining about dirty clothes all the time.

Are you in cahoots with Danger and Kissa Death? How come none of y'all are putting pen to paper?

I actually did, but I'm not sure I like it. I may submit something, but you really are a good writer, it's worth a shot.

Cahoots...

Send it to me.

For the record, I haven't done laundry since my mother was here. So the complaining was fully warranted.

I knew it.

Gosh, you should have just tossed me some baked beans. I would have responded to that. I do also respond to Jayne, Hey You, and a multitude of other names. Next time, the baked beans. Really.

Can't wait to work with y'all--think it'll be fun for all of us!

hola, and i was a witness to the roller girls' fabulousness right in front of the irish snug (i kept getting distracted by the prospect of an irish breakfast...), but having not met you, was unsure of who to shout at (although i talked with lisa for a brief minute). i do want to say thank you form all of us at the flying dog for allowing us to sponsor a sport which i can get behind as much as i can get behind our beer. yay!

edited for massive spelling mistakes

Well Blug. I wish I had known! We were right smack on Broadway and 14th--'bout three booths in.
