The type of tired I'm feeling evades easy categorization. I've been living my life in ten-minute increments of solitude and rest--10 minutes here, 10 minutes there, skating, drinking, and crafting holiday gifts that will be late anyway in between

whatever happened to The General? i was half expecting the story to end with it sliding on the ice until stopped by some large, unmovable object. you know... like the good old days.

I was telling a fellow roller girl about him (the mechanic, not The General). He rolls into my life when I need my car fixed, makes out with me, calls the next week and then I don't see him again until the next time the car breaks down.
Her reaction: "He sounds perfect, Cat."
Viva la General! He's takin' it easy this winter.

Hi, btw. mickeytor is doing the match-making thing and he suggested I hook up with you. I'm happily married, I hasten to add, so I'm talking 'hook up' in terms of LJ only!
I checked out your interests and, though not listed on mine, I also love red lipstick (there's no other colour for me), shopping (I'm addicted), Scotland (long family connections), and the Loch Ness Monster (amongst others), so I guess we have a little wad of common ground with which to start. If I was younger, single, and more energetic I'd probably also be doing more skating/drinking, but those days are of the past. In fact I haven't skated for a very long time; last time I did, I got knocked over on the ice and some idiot skated over my hand, right through my nail. Those were pre-manicure days though, so it was less of an apocalypse than it would be now!
There's no pressure to friend me: I'm just introducing myself as mickeytor suggested, and will check back with you in the next day ( ... )

I would never say never though--this one-woman is so very talented and it's my hope that she takes over the world one continent at a time. So ya never know!
Any friend of my beloved mickeytor is a friend of mine. Someday I will write him a letter and tell him how special I think he is. Maybe next year. It's right around the corner!
He always sends me some great reads--I'm quite positive yours will be among them. Plus you're officially my first overseas LJ friend--welcome!
Do you have Boots in Wales? Oh how I adore that store. The beauty products there are second to none--I could buy every lipstick in the joint if left unchecked.
