RE: Knowing computers but not having experience -- have you tried registering at the temp agencies? They give you the proficiency tests, and I imagine scoring high on those would help you get your foot in the door as far as admin work goes. Good luck!

I looooooooooooooooooove the people at Hour Personnel, which was formerly Triangle Temporaries. They're in a two-story shopping center across 288 from the mall. They've always been super friendly and helpful and awesome with me and the people I know who use them.

While not super-glamorous, I did see a sign on the Rice Box in Denton yesterday, saying they were hiring kitchen staff; dishwasers primarily, I think.
