I honestly wanted Merlin to dance in his underpants singing "I like that old time rock'n'roll!" but he ended up doing the Hokey Pokey instead

DOOOD that sux =( I always wonder why people are so defensive of the whole homo thing - but I know my father's country is the same (not sure about his side of the family but I assume so?) And then I've heard perceptions, where they think if a man has sex with another man, then the man who 'bottoms' dies. I'm like, W. T. FFFFF?!?!?!

It's a wonder why they're like that - are they afraid of something? That they'll get raped in the night?

Yeahhh *sigh* you summed it up pretty well. It's religion/social something-something, as you say. Homosexuality was the fashion back when the Romans ruled the world. But then they went crazy from lead poisoning and Jesus came along. so, that was the end of that.

Hmmm, you need to come here to Australia or go to Holand or UK then if Turkey's that bad, lol. Nah, we have homophobes here too, but luckily I was never part of that community (rednecks/bogans). Because all the homophobes here are from the poorer, uneducated class, when ppl say homophobic/racist shit I assume they're dumb and I don't talk to them anymore.

If only it was the same with sexism. But unfortunely we're still a pretty sexist country. yehhh go us. Sometimes I wonder if feminism will ever stop being a dirty word.

Canada! Good choice. My bf lived there and he said he loved it. Don't think I could live there myself (I need the weather to be v.hot) but Canada is the other extreme - lots of snow. Good for you!

Yeah. I mean we just got a female prime minister, which is good, but I felt there was still sexism in the accounting firm I worked in. Men will still get promoted over women and they've found that more than 10% of women get paid less for doing the same job. This is due to women not being as outspoken and finding it harder to negotiate their income. My girlfriend made a joke to me about how since the feminist revolution, nothing's changed except we now have bigger mouths. lol, unfortunately she kinda has a point even though it contradicts the negotiate-income thing. I mean, if we have bigger mouths, how come we still find it hard to discuss income in the work place? Anyway *waves hands* Politics be gone! Sorry, I can rant like a ranty bitch.
