Hiatus ? It's actually ended D: Well maybe they will come back but... We aren't sure about it... It's kinda sad since Gintama was the only long shonen jump series I waited the most each week.

Of course they will come back, they said so themselves! So even if it will take a year, it's still a hiatus, not the end. I'm optimistic XD
Nope, I didn't. but it'S not bad for an anime that was based on a game, I understand everything that's going on there, and apparently background knowledge was not necessary.
Ahah yeah, they follow the whole plot of the game, and didn't change anything (except for the end that they chose since there's 3 differents ending in game) But what I mean is that when you played with the good quality graphics and english dub, it's hard to watch such a poor animation (really even the DVD version vs de TV version it's hard to tell apart, when the DVD version is supposed to look better...), and as I said, I don't like the Japanese cast even though I love all the seiyuu.
I actually convinced myself to try watching Gintama some time ago. I only saw 5 episodes and it's hilarious as hell! It's just that I lack the motivation to stick with long anime. orz
I understand how you feel, I normally don't watch longer series, too. Gintama is something of an exception XD Well, if you ever manage to watch more if Gintama, it will definitely be worth it ;)
I really, really, really hope that Gintama anime will come back to us eventually. It's one of the few series I usually like more as an anime than as a manga. The jokes tend to work better animated and the voices are just fantastic. Oh well, I'll still read the manga while I wait.
Heh, I've considered reading Slam Dunk, too, but the art. XD I'm so glad that the more recent manga have usually much prettier art. *is shallow*
I am sure it will! Or at least, I don't allow myself to think it won't XDD I will rewatch the anime first, and then, if there is still time before the new season starts, I'll read the manga XD I don't particularly want to spoil things for myself XD
It was kind of horrible at first, even the Slam Dunk anime is better looking. But it has pretty intense action, so after a while you forget about the ugly art XDD
That's the problem with the older manga & anime. The plot might be interesting, but the art burns your eyes. XD I keep hoping that someone will decide to make a, well, remake of them. I really like Yu Yu Hakusho, for example, and while it's not nowhere near as ugly as Slam Dunk (in my opinion anyway XD), a remake done in a more modern and sleeker style would be so shiny.
I know XDDD A remake of Slam Dunk would not be too bad. Hmm, idk, Yu Yu Hakusho was ok, I think. Well, it did look somewhat old-fashioned, those clothes and hair... And Kurama's pink suit XDDD But I doubt it could be improved much, it was pretty cool already.
Gintama is actually one of the rare cases when the anime is almost better than the manga, so I would recommend that you watch the anime instead. When all the boring RL stuff is over, that is :)

I think the anime has really nice animation, though... I have looked at some youtube videos of the game, and it looked weird. Kind of like ugly 3D XD
