Now that I think about it, people from United States do have a tendency to write "INSERT CITY NAME HERE, INSERT STATE NAME HERE" instead of saying "USA" or "States." I always feel automatically compelled to write Seattle, WA, whenever I see a question on Livejournal asking for my location. I always forget that people outside the States may not recognize all 50 different two-letter abbreviations for all 50 different states(WA - Washington, MI - Michigan, etc.).

"But the bear is bear-y annoying." This line made me laugh. I always think wordplay humor is awesome.

I'm going to miss Gintoki, Hijikata, and the rest of the gang during the hiatus.

I don't think I even know all of 50 states XD Well, I would probably recognise them if they were written in full, not abbreviated, but abbreviations mean nothing to me whatsoever...

Wordplay is cool, that was the only thing that made the bear tolerable. And that was actually the fansubbers' accomplishment more than what was in the anime.

Have fun re-watching Gintama during the hiatus! I recently re-watched the first 49 episodes of Gintama on the first four DVD volumes that I checked out from my public library. Even though the English subtitles on the DVD are official, I think the official English subtitles are terribly unfunny. The English subtitle on the DVD kept referring to Hasegawa as a "DORK"; I think it's far funnier to call him a "MADAO" like in the fan sub version.

You're very lucky because you get access to the fan sub version of Gintama online.

That sucks that the official subtitles are less funny than the fansubs - what is the point of buying a DVD if it's not funny :/ But I guess the quality is good, that's a plus.

Haha, I have downloaded all of it, I don't watch it online. And I have three versions of the movie with different fansubs, and lots of other related videos, like AMVs and trailers. My Gintama video folder is about 40 Gb XDDD
