Barack Obama is the new President-Elect of America. He's going to be President. Wow. I can hardly believe it's real. This is incredible. Today really is the start of a new America.
I'm headed to bed. I'm too tired to stay up anymore. I have to deliver a referencing workshop first thing in the morning, so I really ought to be at least a little rested.
I'm pretty confident that when I wake up, barring some kind of unholy collapse, Barack Obama will be the President-Elect. It's a good day.
They're formally projecting Ohio for Obama. That puts him on 195 votes, and if you add in California's 55 votes, which he's pretty certain to get, he's reached 270, and with states to spare!

The Democrats have control of the Senate! They've reached the magic number of 51 and there's still a fair few seats to call. If they get to 60 they're filibuster-proof, because they'll have a two-thirds majority

They've called Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, DC, Illinois and Pennsylvania for Obama! He's got 103 to 34 in the electoral college

The polls are open. How will it end? Who knows? I'm crossing fingers and eyes and toes and legs for an Obama victory, which will make it somewhat problematic driving to work, but I figure it's worth it
