I'm sure that there will be some nutters out there who will baulk at the thought of receiving 'gay blood' or something.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of that. OMG, WHAT IF IT'S CATCHING?! Hundreds, nay THOUSANDS of poor unsuspecting people, having infusions of gay blood! THE GAY AGENDA WILL TAKE OVER!!!!!!!

It now says that it will be lifted and men who haven't had sex with another man in 12 months will be able to donate from November. So yes, woo-hoo that it's been lifted but boo-hoo that gay men in life long relationships cannot donate because they will have obviously had sex less than 12 months ago.
