Feeling the fandom 'meh'...

Is it me or is fandom dull these days?

There's only one show currently on TV that I get excited about, that I anticipate the episodes and read the fic and get giddy over, and that's Hawaii Five-0. All my other shows - Bones, Glee, Criminal Minds, White Collar, NCIS, hell, even Supernatural - I'm just...meh, you know? I watch them, I enjoy them, ( Read more... )

Well, you are plotting something more exciting than writing at the moment, aren't you? Aren't you anticipating a great vacation soon? That does make other things pale in comparison.

I am, yes. I did wonder if my excitement over my holiday was just overshadowing things, but it's never been an issue in the past. Maybe I just need the break to recharge my batteries and I'll come back with a head full of fic.

I'm having inspiration problems myself - things are taking way too much concentration, which is hard right now. I do hope that your vacation does re-inspire you!

Is it us? Are we just tired and jaded and H50 is new so we're not bored with it yet?

I switched to DVDs cos I ran out of fandom squee. I'm now in love with Leverage and finally getting to watch the end of BSG.

I strongly recommend Leverage.

I watched the first two seasons of Leverage, I did enjoy it but I wasn't crazy in love with it, you know? I have the third season downloaded, I just haven't got round to watching yet.

Fair enough.

I wish you a resurgence of fandom squee and that soon.

Supernatural hasn't grabbed me this season - but I don't know if it's cos I hated the first half of this new season, or if I've de-sensitised myself to it on purpose.

I didn't even cry at the end of Being Human, when to be honest I should have been crying my face off.

Luckily, one of my fandoms has been kick started again by the slashy trailers and posters for the up coming new film and I'm very very excited :-)

There's definitely been something missing this season. I kinda half feel that they've killed everyone so often, both Sam and Dean have died, been to hell, come back - how do you top that? There's no real emotional threat anymore...

I think I'm living in dread of the final episode.....

I don't think it's just you, I too have noticed a slack in fandom activities of late (well besides my own, but am having RL issues right now).

Supernatural is going the way of the dodo and only the hardcore Sam fans still like the show, the rest of us are just waiting for the train wreck to be over :( And unfortunately none of the other shows excite me as much, I mean yes H5-0 and White Collar and Castle are shiny, but nothing close to the size of the SPN fandom or the obsession I had with it.

So basically, blah :(
