Martin Freeman has been officially cast as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit. I for one am thrilled. He's perfect for the role. I was a bit worried when it all came out that initially he had to turn down the role because of committments on Sherlock, but this is wonderful news!

And Richard Armitage is in The Hobbit too - I didn't know that!

I was so happy when I found out he signed. Perfect Bilbo!
But Richard being a dwarf.. Then we won't see his beautiful face :) A Man or Elf would be better but who knows, only Peter :D

I don't think I've seen Martin Freeman in anything, yet. But the photos of him do remind me of a younger Sir Ian Holm, so that's definitely a plus!

I haven't heard yet if Orlando Bloom is supposed to be in it as Legolas, since part of the movie does take place in his father's kingdom. Any word on that?
