*headdesk* That is so very "govermenty" of them, to do that! We've been warned recently not to go to Bali because they think Australians are still being targeted, but we're under no threat at home...

These things remind me of Torchwood Season 3 Day 3, that I watched for the first time yesterday... I think TW-verse has the government down right...but is that good or bad?

Let's just say I always laugh in American movies or TV shows when they talk about not exposing some scandal or not bringing to light corruption because people 'need to have faith in their government'. I just laugh. That is so NOT the British reaction, and to be honest, it's not a very American reaction either, or not as the Founding Fathers would have seen it. The whole point of the US Constitution is the fact that the Founding Fathers didn't trust government!

So anyway. Yes. I find the idea of having faith in your government to begin with laughable. I just choose the lesser of two evils when I vote. Trust the government? Ha. No. I don't think they're evil or malign - just blinkered, self-centred and incompetent.
