I get the protest-voting thing, I do. I even get the swing to the right, although I don't agree with it, because Labour are (supposedly) a left-wing party. But the BNP? Why, dear God, why? They don't have any policies other than being racist, facist Nazi-wannabe thugs. They're despicable, and I'm ashamed they even have one damn seat in Europe. They ( Read more... )

I don't think things would be so bad on a national scale, to be honest. This is using the European and local elections for protest voting, because people on the whole are more vague about what local and European elected officials actually do and their impact and effectiveness. On a national scale, ie. a general election, the BNP wouldn't pick up many votes at all, certainly not enough to do any damage. It's just a shame that the Tories will win the next general election, I wish more people would vote for the Lib Dems.

I only know of the BNP, what I just read on wiki, so the info might not be all 100%, but...a whites-only party? And it won in certain areas? That's....just...blegh.

Thankfully my region did not elect the BNP

Yorkshire and Humberside did. I'm so disappointed.
