And she was Eleni on "Guiding Light".

(I still remember like, the day she got into town to shoot "Victoria's Secret" and I was on the phone with the script coordinator and told him how happy I was that she was going to play Victoria and he was all "ZOMG. DOod. You pronounced her last name correctly." cos apparently that never really happens.)

What was Guiding Light? I've never heard of it!

*sighs* Ah Due South. I loved that show so much.

It's the longest running soap opera in the United States. My grandmother listened to it on the radio, mum used to watch it, and my sister and I watched it. Actually, I think my sister still does. it's shot in NY, and is chock full of NY theatre people. Plus Marj Dunsey (who stole Spock's brain whiel wearing shiny go-go boots that one time) played the 2nd Alexandra Spaulding. I used to *love* it like pie.

Soaps fascinated me cos they're the only segment of the entertainment industry here where women over 40 are still routinely objects of desire, and no-one bats an eye if you're not a size 2.

It's alright, I do that ALL the time.
Like Helena Bonham Carter.
I only just noticed last month that she is the Mom on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory AND Mrs. Lovett.
I mean..I knew she was Mrs. Lovett..I just didn't realize she was Charlie's Mommy.
