it drives me mad seeing Twitter updates on people's LJs, because half of the comments make no sense when you don't know the context. I see your point, but you're making an assumption that the poster is using LoudTwitter to bring the tweets to the attention of non-tweeters, which isn't always the case.
It's an archiving/round up/what-did-I-miss thing. Link! (Lolariously: I am guilty of cutting my tweets. So. Idk. I don't like the formatting, but I like the accessibility? I am ~contrary~.) Plus, for the non-tweeters, not all the statements are contextless/part of tweet threads.
Aw, I do have a weird fondness for Twitter. When I first signed on I sort of didn't get it? And then more people signed up and suddenly it became A Thing. I like the mobility of it, I guess. Anyway, essay over: welcome!
