Had a test this morning for my Online Information Retrieval module. It did not go well. For a start, despite our lecturer swearing up and down the week before that it was all multiple choice, there were at least ten questions which were NOT multiple choice. Mainly on Dialog search commands, which I can recognise but don't ask me to write off the top of my head. So I got screwed that way. He also failed to mention that the test was negative marked, and of course the most heavily weighted questions were the ones that weren't multiple choice, which means getting those wrong, even though they're the minority, could end up making all the questions I did get right completely irrelevant anyway.
I could end up with minus marks for this damn test, which is worth half the module. I could get full marks for the essay - and what are the chances of that? - and still end up failing the module. Joy.
Yeah, I'm not happy.
